1. What do you think the poem is about? Why?
This poem is about how this guy is in prison and gets really messed up and eventually
Ended up in the hospital and came back to life luckly, Hopfully the guy dosent get out
and try to kill him for the second time so thats what i think...
2. What do you think some of the more striking images in the poem are and why?
that Hard Rock wasn't a mean niggerAnymore, that the doctors had bored a hole in his head,
Cut out part of his brain, and shot electricityThrough the rest. When they brought Hard Rock back,
Handcuffed and chained, he was turned loose,Like a freshly gelded stallion, to try his new status.
And we all waited and watched, like a herd of sheep,
To see if the word was true. < this is what i thought was really shocking...
3. Write out lines that support what you think the poem is about and explain how those lines support your idea of the poem’s meaning
The lines that support that i thought were very violet but yes very very sad!!!! but things happen like that in prison..
